Newbie around here, but a lifelong Toffee

My love for the Toffees dates back to the mid 80s and I was only a gossun.

Growing up in Ireland was bland. We didn't get to see much football on tv, and most people supported one of the three teams playing in red - you know who I mean...
Watching Everton play in FA Cup finals in the late 80s, and despite losing, they made an impression on me. And Kevin Sheedy. What. A. Player.
Despite the fact all off my friends supported the pool, I feel Everton chose me. Never hogging the headlines, not winning much silverware. To support Everton you must be loyal, patient and happy with small successes.

My proudest day in school? 1995, and walking into school with the blue shirt and NEC logo... oh the abuse I got.

Gareth Farrelly, you legend.
Duncan Ferguson, you were my hero. Back o' the net!

The despair when we lost out on Champions League qualification. And being laughed at by supporters of other teams - back in your place!

Anyway, I've never been to Goodison, but I intend on righting that error by attending a game this season. Hopefully the game v Man Utd on April 19th.

I have supported Everton since the late 1960's. Born and raised in Ireland. Have lived in Toronto since 1987. Unfortunately one of my big regrets in life to date is never experiencing the Grand Old Lady that is Goodison Park and its amazing supporters. It is now a bucket list item.

I must say I am enjoying life under Roberto Martinez. And that win at Old Trafford. Oh My God!!!

Welcome!!

This is now to me also.

I know exactly how you feel. We are of the same era. Grew up in Limerick

Not the biggest fan of pineapple on pizza...

Another legit question in Ireland is, 'Here, who do you prefer prefer, Oasis or Blur?'
Father Ted fans will understand
