Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Not sure anybody will be signing Bissouma any time soon, Zat

Saw he had been arrested but it wasnt mentioned what it was for.

Seems that (as opposed to the other 2 footballer cases) was a single incident which may come to nothing (proven to be false) in November?

Unless theres more to this than ive seen?

Amazing how theres 3 major footballer cases suddenly after nothing like this before bar the odd player (Evans/Johnson).

We spent 500 mil and we are no closer to where we where when we started.money doesn’t guarantee success. They may have money but their training ground apparently awful, league 1 standard.an ofcource they be near the bottom of the league so no Europe for at least 18 months

Weve spent around £250mil net. Thats about £42mil a year to catch up to teams that had hundreds of millions higher squad value -- that were also spending themselves.

We need two invest another £200mil and to get that right. Newcastle probably £500mil.

They can do that, and if what Staveley and others say is true, I would be surprised if they didnt.

Who would you sign in Jan if you were them?

Surely its a very real possiblity they can actually go down this season?

hopefully

I would happily lose to Burnley and Southampton to send them down

I wrote in here about their fixtures before until Jan. Of the 13 games they have:

Spurs
Arsenal
Chelsea
Leicester
Liverpool
City
United
Everton

Currently theyre on 3pts after 7 games.

How many pts will they have after 20 ?

Come Jan they may well need to spend an absolute fortune to get out of trouble. If that fails then we buy ourselves 2 seasons.

I didn't say they would be.

But by the time Everton have moved into BMD, I would be surprised if ourselves and Newcastle aren't around the same level. Let's face it, we're hardly a million miles ahead as it is.

Id say were miles ahead.

How many of our first 11 gets into their team? All of them?

We also have the new stadium on the horizon, better facilities and a more experienced management and (now) ownership team.

They will need a very successful and quick player transfer turnaround over the next 3 summers.

I don't imagine he'll be playing anytime soon given how publicised the incident was...

I would say we are a fair bit ahead, but yes if they spend well they will probably be around d where we are in 4-5 years. The hope would be we might be moving forward.

I cant see title winners in 5 years.

Genuinely sickening to see the Premier League abandon all morality to allow the murderous mafia of Saudi to get involved in the league. It honestly couldn't be any worse. Those Newcastle fans dressing up in turbans and swigging beer hailing their new leaders ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I agree. Genuinely, if this was Everton I would never watch them again. You can't compromise on some things. Most of you know that I live in Durham and I'm a Trade Union rep. I know many Newcastle fans, a lot of them also Trade Union officials. They are all ecstatic about this takeover. I'm shocked, appalled and so disappointed with them. Especially as a few years ago they were all up in arms about Paolo Di Canio being appointed manager of Sunderland because of his fascist views.

So very very shallow.

They be lucky to stay up, there next few games are horrendous and if Wilson get injured they are in trouble, you are not buying world beaters when you bottom of the league in Jan, when you not going to be in Europe for at least 18 months

Just to get to the level of the likes of Man City, Chelsea etc. will take a number of years. Then even if and when you get there you need to out perform the big boys over a season when there are maybe three or four realistic candidates for winning the league. That is tough and quite possible that even if they get to the required level, performance wise, they may never actually win anything

Would be pretty hilarious if a shedload of managers and DoF turned them down on principle. But I'm not expecting that to be honest.

I'd love it, really love it, if every other club got stuck in on them and were really determined to beat them.. leaving them rooted to the 19th (20th?) spot. The top sides will see them as a major threat (in the long term) and the rest will see them as at least taking their place in the mid-table plus region.. it could get very tasty - especially if somehow a Norwich (with nothing to lose) got physical! I can definitely see Jones resting the likes of ASM for Burnley.
