You can move this to the relegation thread if you want. But I just thought I'd pontificate a little on Newcastle's attempt to salvage PL status. They've 5 games remaining and currently are 19th with 30 points, 4 points beneath 17th position. Unfortunately, they have a superior GD to Blackburn and Hull (both on 34 points).

Their coming fixtures, with my predictions, are as follows:

Portsmouth (h) 1-1 (1)
Liverpool (a) 2-0 (0)
Middlesbrough (h) 1-1 (1)
Fulham (h) 2-1 (3)
Villa (a) 1-1 (1)

That will give them 6 points, taking them up to 36 points. Enough for relegation?

I expect it'll go right to the last match. There's quite a few teams down there still, and so many possible permutations.

I don't fancy Hull's chances at all, and West Brom have a hard run in too.

It's going to go right down to the last match. Exciting to watch - just glad we are not down there duking it out with them!

36 points should see them relegated. Blackburn only need to win their last game at home against WBA to give them 37points.
I think Hull are the team in trouble outside the drop zone, not an easy run-in

I want them go down so much. A single win for Hull, Blackburn and Sunderland will send down, of that I'm sure. I'm confident that Blackburn and Sunderland will get that, I'm less sure about Hull. Go on Hull, just one more win lads.

Must admit, they deserve to go down. Dicking around with so many managers, Ashley fcking everything up, and outbidding other clubs (us included) on so many what proved to be mecurial players.

Totally Evilwebby. And why are they where they are today? Because the fans hounded out Allardyce and Ashley was too stupid to realise the risk of dispensing with yet another manager. If any set of fans need a wake-up call, it's the Newcastle fans. They deserve the Championship.

New rule. Points deduction for sacking more than one manager a season. Three points per manager. That should send them down, and keep them there.

  at this thread.

Its amazing how much we want to see them down.

Not only united by the fact we're Evertonians, but also for our hatred of Newcastle United. Think we should sticky this thread as we all seem to hate the Magpies with a passion. Nothing better than a good ****ging of Newcastle United every now an then.:rant::rant:

please just send them down to the Championship.(n)

I'll be devaststed if these vast slugs escape relegation, they simply must go down ( gan doon). Furthermore, the whole city needs to implode and sink into the North Sea taking each and every gut bucket, tattooed fcukwit with it.Though i'd like the only survivor to be Jimmy Nail, but here's the twist, he can only live the rest of his life in a Stephen Hawkins style...not much to ask for, surely ?

The "bacon-bellied bell-ends".

Imagine the scenes from St. James' when they go down. Grown fat men weeping, screaming abuse and blame at everyone but themselves.

Personally I blame Alan Shearer, the fecking monosyllabic, suck-ass, creep. Never mind Alan, maybe MOTD will allow you back on next season, and you can go back to agreeing with everything the previous pundit has just said. You stupid, grinning moron.

Just can't stand Alan Shearer, never have. Would be absolutely wonderful, if he was the one who goes into the history books as the one who took the Magpies down, never mind Kevin Keegan.
