Apparently now Allardyce "needs convincing" to take the Everton job.

Any manager who needs convincing before stepping into the Goodison hotseat can GTF.

It breaks my heart to see how low the present custodians of EFC have let our standards drop to the point that we are begging a man who the fans don't want to take the job because of their gross incompetency at making decisions.

50 odd years of supporting this club and I've never known things to be this bad. Getting hammered by kopites at work every day and for once there not much you can say in response.

First post for 4 years but had to get that off my chest.

Sorry Blues. For us all.

Agree it's short termism but he wasn't dispensed with at his last two clubs but left of his own accord, once to England and once much to Palace protests to retire or at least take a break and be choosy on his next job.

I'm not his biggest fan so don't get me wrong and agree with the comments on his limited style, he wasn't my first choice by any means either but I do think needs must and he is exactly the right man of those available who could come almost immediately.

I know about Fonseca and have posted already why I suspect he isn't really a runner, as much as I might like that not to be the case, the crucial champions league clash on the 6th December just makes an immediate arrival extremely unlikely anyway and they could easily go further in the competition.

O'Neill is also still under contract and is also possibly making up the numbers.

Moshiri knows in business having a shortlist of one is never a great tactic, and I suspect the other candidates are only too happy to be linked even if not actually in the running

O Neil’s new deal was agreed with the FAI in principal but he hasn’t signed yet mate. He did meet with the FAI last Friday and assured them he is committed to a new deal.

One of the pundits on ESPN, I forget who, said the other night that we could've got Silva but wouldn't pay what was
being asked. He has an exit clause in his contract, apparently. It's the fact that we balked at the money that bothers me.

As for Sam, I wouldn't be as dismayed as some here if he came - he's done well at other clubs, imo - but he'd be a
short term fix and I'd like someone who we think could do the job long term.

I doubt that there's anyone available right now who fits that description.

What's that Periera bloke a lot us were keen on a few years ago doing these days?

I just dont get why some people on here are talking up Allardyce to even the level of "he would get the job done". His record is terrible. His only claim to any level of fame is he took a bunch of bad sides and made them 3 points better, maybe. Not even any more than that. I mean who many managers who are currently unemployed could average better than the 35% win percentage he has? Thats a really special level of terrible.

My fear is that we are close to being at square one again as Sam appears to be on the brink of telling us to do one with his unrealistic demands. I suspect the false fonseca link has been dragged up by the club much like the fake simeone link - to cover up the fact that we can’t secure a target and we are flailing around trying to prove we have no one to turn to.

Why did we as a club somehow suggest that Simone was on our radar, I’m not saying I thought he would come here but when trying to manage expectations and then delivering BFS just in time for Christmas is a bit like asking for a bike and getting a cabbage patch kid

In the next 5 days, we play crisis hit West Ham and the mighty Huddersfield Town at Goodison.
6 points a must.

We currently go into these winnable games with Unsworth in charge and completely out of ideas.
A spanking at Anfield next and then the Xmas rush.

Negligence from the board is the only way to describe this now.
