Come in Tuchel, this is the Walton Luftwaffe, leave holding pattern in T-10 and commence Operation Rhino Exctinction

I was very much pro-Unsworth...after yesterday though it's apparent the job is WAY bigger than first feared and as likable & committed as he is he perhaps isn't up for it just yet. And Ebberell never really inspired me as a player, less so as a coach/assistant (his middle name's KEITH ffs)

DU - bold as he was and as quick as he was to action changes at HT - showed, for me anyway, the difference between managing in the PL & the U23's. His tactical acumen was exposed for what it was yesterday - that's to say it's naive and hopeful at best. Leicester weren't great, far from it, but they had us sussed because, simply, there's so little going on with EFC that despite the stats and the poss % we're very rarely a real threat anyway....how many times attacks are wound down in favour of playing backwards and returning the ball to PICKFORD for a welly upfield - essentially trusting the keeper to pick a pass more than outfield colleagues....weird. KENNY's a good kid but outta his depth atm and I genuinely hope he's not gonna keep his place and be cast as the blame-donkey...

I used the word in another post....but I've never seen us less 'unified' as a team for a long time, if at all TBH.

Even under the darker, end days of Bob there was always a chance of a flash of bossness or a goal. Yes, we forgot to defend at times...but now it seems like we've forgotten how to play as a team entirely.

And that's scary IMO.

OCTOBER and a relegation scrap is on the cards... and if you think otherwise then you've either not watched us, not seen the fixture list or both.

I wish it were different. o_O
This ^

If yesterday was part of his interview, he failed to win over the selection committee.

Poor tactics and initial line up against a side who play kick and rush football.

Second half we controlled the game but had zero width because he's take both wide players off. Mystifying really.

I wanted him to succeed and make the job his won, but so far he's failing to convince.

The Fat Sam shouts are a shocker though ffs.

This.

We have 28 games to get 32 points and as sad as that sounds it’s the reality. If we get a good manager in, play a settled side and make ourselves hard to beat that will be a start.

Then in January we can get a striker and a CB in to push on.

It’s bad, but it’s fixable
That + Barkley back in there would get us going again.

Obviously we'll do business in January, but we need to try and keep calm and be creative and sometimes out of adversity will come new possibilities and ideas we can utilise in the future.

I know that sound a bit Pollyanna-ish but it can be true if we are brave.

I fear a pummelling there.

Pace down the wings and movement behind our DMs?

Lyon could put 4 past us.

People think I'm mucking about but this Everton side has absolutely nothing to recommend it. Virtually zero quality anywhere on the pitch, no pace, few players with any technical ability, no fight, no goals, no confidence.

We are in massive trouble - not just now, but for two more months at least unless something huge happens
