Hmm - and people start to realise that maybe it wasn't Ronald Koeman that was the problem....

No doubt a few more loses and Unsworth will be the new problem. Maybe it's actually the players we have on the pitch??

Ageing center backs and no striker - which of course Koeman wanted to correct but, whilst we landed a lot of players in the transfer window we didn't get all of them. And that's the problem

The board bottled it by sacking Koeman - should have weathered the storm...

He spent £200M on creating a first team squad, and it's no better than any team operating in the bottom half of the Championship.

How on earth is that not Koeman's fault?

Unsworth and whoever comes in after him are tasked with clearing that dogs breakfast up and starting again next summer...hopefully when we're still in the PL.

he didnt get a striker m8...

the defence is obviously a bigger problem here and we just bought more midfielders, baffling

Ah fantastic - the King of irrational arguments is weighing in.....

All the factors outlined above - we're talking slim margins here. Not having a striker in the prem is massive - obviously. Koeman was involved in that - but arguably that sits more with Walsh and the board. Any manager will struggle until that is fixed

Not having a striker and the fixture list compounded the downward spiral - focus is on the manager, but ultimately the lack of players, time for players we did have to gel and unforgiving fan base are huge drivers here...

Agree bought too many midfielders. Koeman was always clear we needed a left sided defender. And a striker - he was saying Sandro is young and new to the prem, Calvert Lewin is young etc etc. We came close on Giroud by all accounts. The truth is that has really cost us

Also, you can't expect to nail such a big overhaul perfectly in one window. Notice no one is complaining about the goalkeeper - Pickford was a great signing

The impression I'm getting is Koeman was obsessed with getting Giroud on the end of Siggi crosses- and there was no plan B. That goes down to Koeman for me !

I think he was also obsessed with Ross Barkley - hence signing all the number 10s

They will obviously have tried for a number of strikers but couldn't pull it off. Other positions like center back and goalkeeper we did get some players in early. And is getting transfers over the line more Koeman or Walsh??

We don't know if missing out on Giroud "really cost us". With Giroud we would still have no pace and we would be playing with Rooney and Giroud up front with Sigurdsson on the left and Vlasic on the right. Still strikes me as a team with no pace and too many No 10s.

That's not even considering the defence which is even worse than the attack.

It certainly looks like the only reason he signed them was a big middle finger to Ross.

Crazy. It's amazing Kenwright or someone didn't step in because it's not like this wasn't obvious.
