maybe, but then you'd have to ask yourself why the incumbent is openly available at 7/1 or 8/1 if something wasn't fairly imminent.

People put bets on all the time thoigh mate without a clue who is going to get the job. Go on Twitter now and there will be about 50 different blag ITK's ranging from "Sam is a cert" to "Tuchel travelling on tomorrow" and this fluctuates all bets.

Best thing to do is like me, cry at the thought of about 9 of the names mentioned for the job are not worthy of having their name associated with Everton Football Club

again you need to explain the 8/1 available on Unsworth, that suggests to me people know more than you think they do otherwise that kind of money would not be left on the table for a bloke whose actually doing the job at present - no way.

Only 9?

If we had this list 6 months ago with Koemans name included I'm sure most would have plumpted for Koeman.
It's desperately depressing

Difficult to disagree with anything Carragher said there. A lot of people are desperate to see us play 'attractive football' but are these players even capable of that whilst winning matches in the process?

I'm sure Unsworth is aware how plenty of fans yearn for entertaining stuff. It's probably why he failed to be pragmatic yesterday.

Which is why it's an utter disgrace what Koeman has done to this club.

If you sit back and looked at that team not realising the money spent, it looks limited and aging with a few promising young players without guidance.

Ideal world, we should be a solid hard to beat team already. That's gone. We've also lost a key playmaker and 20+ goals a season and not replaced them.

It's a horror show. Hence why the shouts for a Big Sam seem more and more likely and sensible the day goes on.

You reckon 6 months ago people would have wanted Koeman ahead of Tuchel or Ancelotti? Errrrm no mate
All I am saying is that this list is so unappealing. Most people were happy after last season.
I agree that Tuchel and Ancelloti are big names but are they the right people to get us out of this dire mess?
I honestly don't know who is but the names on the list are generally not what we should expect as Everton managers. I've seen Bingham, Lee and Walker in the past....

Is Ancelotti right for the job - IF he took the job it would be because he knew he would succeed mate - he won't and i doubt we'd be daft enough to go after him anyway.

Tuchel - depends - he took on a newly promoted small side kin Mainz and got them finishing between 5th and 11th over 5 seasons in the Bundesliga.

Ignore all the panic from a lot of supporters - fuelled for clicks by the media, and the reality is we have some very good players in the squad and some bad holes as well, what we need is a manager good enough and strong enough to make tough decisions and decide the best 11 to get us to January stabilised and then fix those holes in the squad.

We didn't get a 'new manager bounce' with Unsworth - purely because the players he's relied on aren't struggling through lack of effort, but because they are by and large completely washed up (Jagielka, Williams, Baines, Rooney, Lennon and to a lesser extent mirallas too)

What you actually need is someone to come in and motivate and get the best out of the core group of senior pro's who have been under-performing (Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin) and to restore confidence to certain 'new' players who have had theirs shattered - Sandro, Klassen, Holgate, Davies

A real top manager will achieve that - and thats how they became a top manager.

Slavoljub Muslin : no I've never heard of him either. Manager of Serbia who topped their group with one loss in 10 competitive games. Now left, any good ?

I wish I had your optimism.
Who would you go for?

You would think Everton would have succession plans for managerial changes which would be constantly updated to avoid this exact scenario. Mind you this is one of the most incompetent boards in the premier league which are now floundering once they don’t have David Moyes to shield them or Lukaku’s goals to deflect from the inadequacies of the team.
