Even accepting we are desperate and A-List options aren't available the is a long list of better options that we could get NOW. Both Dyche and Eddie Howe would crawl over broken glass to manager our club. Both would at least be viewed as positive appointments by the media and generate fan support. This is the worst decision anyone running Everton has ever made and the bar is very, very low!
Damn right., one of the worst days ever if we end up with FS.

That's not 'guaranteed' though is it mate.

As I say, with that win percentage, it's knife-edge stuff, and he has stayed up when Ipswich had 36 points in 18th (bolton), Newcastle had 37 in 18th (sunderland) and Hull had 34 (Palace). So that says quite clearly he needs the 17th place team to be absolute supertosh.

Again...if he cant no other manager would either.

Spurs turned to Redknapp when they were in bother, after Sherwood bombed.

Redknapp/Sherwood = Allardyce/Unsworth.

Redknapp, also a figure of questionable integrity with the 2nd-hand car dealer persona.

We are in a far bigger mess than they were then.

He did more than stabilise them, by the time he left they were in the UCL and ready for a coach of outstanding quality to take them on.

The parallels are there. I don't think Sam will replicate that but we have a good chance of staying up. It's not forever.

And I'm not keen on him either but if we stay up then fine. We have a squad of players arsing about like drunks trying to find their way home after a bender. We can always pay him off if he does what he is brought in to do.

I absolutely respect and understand the strong views of blues on this btw. People care, that's terrific to see.
Think you've got your dates mixed up mate. Redknapp managed Spurs for about 5 years from 2007ish, Sherwood came in after AVB flopped, and was binned off for Pochettino after 5 months. This is a very different situation.
