This.

Jose is the ideal, first choice candidate but I suppose it is unlikely to happen.

Koeman has to be the next up for the me - purely as he has the Prem experience and I think he's suited to be the player who develops the youngsters we have.

Then probably Cocu/Emery/De Boer would both be fine choices as well. However, my main question mark with Emery would be that he very rarely brings through/encourages youth. I'm not meaning that in a bad way, but he's very much like Moyes in the sense that he can snatch a bargain out of nowhere and will introduce youth players slowly over time.

In a way that's fine, but I don't think he'd be as good as boosting the youngsters that we have into first-team regulars as Koeman, Cocu or De Boer would.
I think in terms of boosting home grown young players Favre most probably would be you're first choice based on his record at gladbach, followed by De Boer.

Any untried prem manager from overseas is a gamble.

Ramos, Gross, Scolari, AVB (Chelsea) to name a few that came in with big reputations and bombed.

I'd still rather go with a tied and trusted prem manager such as Mourinho or Koeman, but if we cannot get either of those, only then IMO should we be considering a FDB or an Emery.

I like Emery, but Sevilla`s league form would be a cause for concern.

What the Europa League Final demonstrated was, without making any subs completely turned the game on it`s head, I believe he has shown how tactically aware he is and the fact that he motivated them players at half time. I`d love to see that reaction by any manager at GP and that reaction to a manager from his players...

I`d put him on a 4 man shortlist including Mourinho (Until that's not possible), Koeman and FDB. That's an exciting list....

I'm not suggesting we get just 'anyone' - but I think the person who comes in should be a man-manager as well as a tactician who can influence a game.

Basically, anyone with a plan B who can show people like Deulofeu some lovin' would probably be quick out the blocks - we do have a good semblance of a squad there.

Not sure about this Joe Royle stuff - he'd never end up like Joe Kinnear, but is he going to work well with whoever comes in, and get the kind of player who suits their plans?

Think movement will start happening from monday to be honest. UTD will be clear in their intentions very swiftly after the final i think, which will mean that Jose either is out of it or balls deep.

Start ticking them off after that....! I think if Emery probably would have been on a list of sorts even before last night - seems we have spoken to quite a few candidates already, sound him out this weekend. I think Sevilla will throw anything to keep him though.

I'm just happy we're being linked with the likes of Mourinho and Emery etc. because the names linked before Martinez's appointment were downright abysmal. On the up. Till we re-sign Moyes.

This is on ESPN's website and was shown on screen last night during Press Pass.

In the space of just 12 months, Jose Mourinho's reputation has been so badly tarnished that his PR team
have issued a charm offensive to try and bag the Manchester United job he should have been given 3 years
ago. Appoint him now or PSG will get him! Appoint him now or he'll go to China! Appoint him now or...erm...
Everton will get him.

It wasn't discussed by the panel and was incidental to what was, but I thought it was worth posting.

Agree, any untried premier manager from overseas is a gamble. Emery is better than FDB because of Emery managed the teams in one of the top football leagues in the world, but FDB......you know....
