If we don't get either Unai or Koeman I hope the board takes a few weeks to step back and draw up a new list of candidates.

Pellegrini doesn't seem to be an option for them- or at least one they are that keen on - so let's wait for the summer tournaments to finish and have another look.

Give a DoF role to Big Joe and preseason will take care of itself.

Again, there is absolutely no guarantee Moyes would take us into the top ten.

Making the top ten was less difficult when he was here before......outside of six teams we never had to worry much about what was behind us.....mostly yo yo clubs on the EPL/Championship elevator.

Now there are clubs like Leicester.....league champions....Hammers and Saints....Stoke and Swansea.

Those clubs are now well established in the EPL and are geared toward top half finishes these days.

If Rafael gets a tune at the Toon they will be capable of finishing in the top half season after next.

Just say NO to Moyes.

Not only is he unlikely to take us forward, his steady Eddie keep us "best of the rest" policy will not wash no moah.

But my head is going to explode soon because I am convincing myself with each passing day that the bugger is now one of the leading candidates for our vacancy and it is bringing home to me how much I came to dislike him in his latter years here and how much I have come to loathe him since he left us.
Moyes is the Donald Trump of the Everton managerial primaries...

Collapsed is a little dramatic - there was mutual interest but ultimately Koeman has sights on bigger things 12 months down the line. There were never any guarantees.

Similarly with Emery, he's expressed interest in managing in the PL, he'll have by now had the full Moshiri pitch which is a highly attractive one but it's down to him. His people are meeting the club today so there's clearly interest.I believe he has a buy out clause in his contract so if he wants to come to us the process should be relatively simple.

But there are no guarantees, there never are.
So I take the development on Tuesday you referred to was regarding Emery, not Koeman. As you seemed to be dismissing the official Southampton line at that time I took it as being a positive development in the Koeman saga.

It's harder because there are 6 teams that will definitely finish above us. City, Arsenal, Utd, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea. In the past we used to be comfortably better than the rest however that's not the case now with Southampton, West Ham and Leicester all having better squads than us.

But you'd have said that about Leicester, Southampton and West Ham last season, and all 3 of them finished above the rs and Chelsea.

The league is more competitive cos the playing budgets are closer than ever. Ok the top sides can still attract the better players, but football is a funny World in that a players value and media profile can inflate his reputation far more than his footballing ability determines. This is why having a good manager is so important. Because if all things start to become equal you need a tactical edge, a clever eye for a player or something else to push you above the rest.

It's almost nailed on that we're getting that swarthy Portuguese lad with the arm band from Braga.

I think he has nice lips

Agreed, take our time, no need to rush, as long as we get somebody in before Xmas 2017 is fine with me.

LOL stop this, hes basically just making educated guess based on what esk is saying.

Im convinced hes a multi.

He's not.

And besides, 99% of people 'ITK' ride the media consensus/make assumptions. The game is the game.

Eventually, their hit rate will indicate whether they're indeed, privy to insider info. Or whether they're good at hedging their bets and articulate in doing so.

Lets give @themole10 fair time before being so dismissive.
