I work away at sea so get to work with guys who support all manner of teams ( the sheff wed fans are doing my head in today btw)
Anyway was talking to a lad i know is big city fan, he said to me thing about city is Mark Hughes signed a hell of a lot of good players for city ( Kompany, Zabaleta, Barry and Tevez) he also signed Robinho. Robinho was a failure of course, but at the time it made a statement of intent, was first time they'd beaten United to a major signing.
Said he rated Hughes and his foresight shouldn't be forgotten, he then said when Mancini came in he tightened up the defence and thats what won them the league. Said he was lucky throught his time to have a fit Kompany. He said Pelligrini then progressed them to an attacking team and now city have scored over 100 goals a season under Pelligrini. Granted they have a wealth of attacking players, but nevertheless potentially so could we.
Id take Pelligirini tommorow, maybe not a head of emry, but hes a good manager with a good record. My worry is, is he what we want right now? Jagielkas hit the nail on the head when he says who ever takes over is going to take over small squad.
