Great item here from Telegraph (sorry if already posted)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...tment-will-be-seen-as-day-everton-banished-u/

Says we have always been a big club and puts down the Soton cry babies
A great article and featured in a paper that sits in the more respectable side of the media.

What is good about this article Is finally some one in the media has seen an Everton story and not dismissed it but actually looked at what it means for the club but also the football world.

People may think, Koeman, we should have aimed higher, I can understand, I admittedly liked the idea of Emery but Koeman is still highly regarded as the article demonstrates. He done well with Southampton in two seasons. He had Europe and not the smallest team to manage and not badly paid I am sure.

However as the telegraph point out, we haven't just appointed him it has been the manner in the way we have gone about it. That wasn't Kenwright , he has done well at times getting us good fees for some of the players, but this is new, we haven't seen the likes of this since the 80's and before. It's obvious that it is now getting round that Everton have started to behave like a big team in the way we conducted our pursuit of Koeman. @The Esk said as much in previous posts the telegraph has now put it out there for everyone else to see.

So what are going to be the next bold statements, Monchi or Overmars? Stadium. I admit I never had heard of Moshiri before he was named as the unlikely invester, do I care no, but at last I can have the same feeling about Everton that my dad had about Everton through out his time growing up and into the 80s, I can beleive.

It was neither ... just the letter T: hence t-shirt, t-bone etc. T was capitalised in T Rex.
And Spinosaurus was significantly bigger.
lol... we've meandered off topic a bit!
I think your paradigm needs to shift...Everton is a quite different beast to what it has been for over a generation. And no, I do not think our announcing a top quality DoF is "pie in the sky"

I repeat no guarantees, but we are fishing in the finest waters, dining at the highest table - that's the scale of our ambition. Currently difficult given where we are coming from, nevertheless that's what we are doing.
The acquisition of koeman has raised a few eyebrows in the media (basically they have under estimated the ambition of Moshiri) but I've no doubt should we land monchi 'the biggest fish of all from the finest waters' then that is the statement of intent that will make the media sit up and notice the revolution that is taking place. All conducted in the Everton way 'quietly and understated'.

Do you buy into the rumoured £100m transfer kitty or believe it could be higher? Given the oft-stated ambition we now have, and the targets we are setting ourselves I'm not sure £100m is going to stretch that far. It will allow us to make some initial big strides but then we would have to invest again to kick on from there.

Speaking of. There better be no bloody meltdown/cries of false promises from the fans if we spend less. All that matters is that the manager gets the players he wants, not that we spend everything possible.
