You mean the Lucien Favre who helped a young Marco Reus shine in the Bundesliga? The same manager who has helped bring through Herrmann, a winger now part of the German setup? Also who signed a 19 year old Xhaka for the first team?

A lot of his purchases, other than Martial, have been expensive flops and although he has developed youth it has a very "dump them in and hope they figure it out" feel to it like when he brought on Nick Powell for his only appearance since 2014 to try and rescue the CL game against Wolfsburg...and then sent Powell out on loan a few days later. He is incredibly arrogant and can be very vindictive and petulant as demonstrated by his treatment of Victor Valdes.

His team have largely played incredibly safe and boring football - they were 1st in the league for backwards passes, 3rd for passes sideways and 18th for chances created whilst many of their points were only gained by the brilliance of De Gea....who but for a paperwork snafu he would have sold last summer.

The weekly complaint I've heard from a Utd STH all season is 'he never strays away from playing two defensive midfielders, and I'm sick of the sideways, boring passing game'. Sound familiar?

That is quite specifically not what he is known for.

Edit: lol and he specifically is known for developing youth players.

If united win the FA cup will that mean Southampton get into Europe? Wouldn't that mean Koeman is less likely to come here?
