looks like stoke and west brom are battling for the top of the championship, both on the scent of premier league big money.

who are the contenders in the championship?
who could have the staying power to expel some of the current detritus?

and most importantly.

what sides in the league currently mid table to top ten are likely to be the danger sides next season?

ready, steady........ (wait for it).....go!

villa and city as well as spurs and portsmouth have the basis to step up again. an increase in quality in the right places respectively for each being a help to push on.

spurs need a defence and a keeper possibly.
villa need a defender, another midfielder as young has gone, and someone to cover carew.
city need a cm, a proper one, and a RB so richards can stick CB.
pompey have a few aging stars, cover for campbell, a better version of diop and davis and mendez - nugent hasnt panned out and defoe wont last a full season on his lonesome.

west brom appear to be the championship side that look capable and also willing to spend, they have taken young from villa, and thats before the summer window has started. they could well displace brum or wigan or reading or toon next season, obviously depending on who gets sunk this may.

ps. about villa. they are sweating on carson, the uncertainty surrounding the petite oeuf and the clear distrust on behalf of hicks and the other one has cast doubt on the futures of many of the spanish lads in their squad. xabi titmus, i mean alonso is looking a gonner, and coco the clown could go with the little egg - hence the spectre over carson.

The boing boing army for the toon army, both as bad as each other in my opinion.

The geordies are the biggest whoppers on the face of the earth, but that " boing boing baggies baggies boing boing" song gets right on my tits, i never had anything against them until they started making that annoying sound.

Chelsea could be in trouble if they change there manager again and i suspect the [Poor language removed] to be just that untill the ownership thing gets sorted, sothat may free up two places in the CL.

Id be afraid of Spurs and Villa!

I think Reading and Boro are on borowed time in the prem.

the fancy juans'll be gone next season just like the frogs all went when who-lee-eh went, be interesting to see which nationality the dump is flooded with next season, bilic & a load of his nazis maybe, the place is a joke it's like a stop off point for different nationalities.... a kind of sangatte. either way they wont be contenders.

fulham are crap, god only knows how they have lasted so long..i would love to see them join derby along with boro, they are also just plain and simply crap...i think 3rd place is a possibility this year let alone next year if we maintain our level of consistency as chelsea are bound to drop points. i think it will be the same group of teams next year challenging the top teams alongwith spurs
