Great opportunity for Niels to get game time as still young and needs to be playing regular for his development!

Digne is not injury prone and godfrey did ok there last season too so all the drama about it is really pathetic

100% support this. Right move for Nkounkou and for Everton. Nkounkou can be exciting in flashes, but he's not yet at the standard that we need. He needs to be playing week in week out, that's how he's going to develop, so let's hope this works out for him. We've got Godfrey, Delph and possibly Branthwaite to provide cover, we'll manage just fine.

Exactly.
Rightback could be more of a problem if Coleman gets injured. Maybe he needs to use Kenny

Slight concern two managers saw nothing in him. As he did look very promising.
Hope this loan spell works.
I don't think managers saw nothing.
Digne would get into most teams starting 11.
Not many managers play more than two full backs (Southgate excluded).

I think digne is ok. But vastly over-rated on this forum.
He was the back up left back. Or so you would think.
We have no specialised full back cover left and right. Not sure how a club the size of Everton end up with that.
If he was banging on the door he wouldnt be going out on loan. For the reason he's not i see sense in the loan.
But we're 1 injury either side from playing fill in players.

I agree that we are desperately lacking cover at full back (left and right).

I'm hoping that we have a recall clause for Nkounkou if we have significant injury issues.

It's a loan that suits Nkounkou more than us as it gives him playing time and leaves us without cover. I doubt his wages are too much of an issue. Hopefully he gets plenty of games and improves.

And fingers crossed we don't get too many injuries.

Pure stroke of genius, lost one back up left back because he refused to sign a contract so...we loan our only other specialist back up for Digne to Standard Liege.

Its OK though we have Fabien Delph-Injured as emergency back up. FFS.

See no problem with loaning him out, he needs games, if Digne gets injured do you honestly think Benitez would throw this lad in as left back? No he would play Godfrey just like Ancellotti did...

Let's not freak for the sake of freaking

Holgate / Kenny and Godfrey / Delph are the fullback cover as Nkounkou begins his Long Goodbye (c Raymond Chandler) by going out on loan...for a year...or so

The situation is unfortunate, but he had to go out on loan. We have a bad habit of holding onto players for no reason and not giving them playing time- hence the malcontent from the likes of Kean, Vlasic and Lookman throwing the hissyfits.

The reality is we should have been signing cheap options like Townsend and Gray for depth all along and sending the lads out on loan to learn their craft. Also, managers are volatile- while they say they have intention of playing x and y, they don’t want to risk their job by giving someone unproven time.

The lad on his debut did some fantastic and powerful runs up the left wing, he looked the part and many agreed.

Now when were were under the cosh last season it's then he should have been given game time as Ancelotti bimbled between Bernard, Davies,Siggy and Davies trying to get a spark in midfield and the flanks to stop the rot......that was his time for a wild card to be chucked in, nothing to lose. However bereft of ideas Ancelotti stuck to his own game plan, and failed.
As it is now I don't think it's a huge loss him going out on loan and we now have pace, as Degsy said we do have option for cover if Digne were to miss a game or two.
