Unconfirmed reports that 43 fans have been killed in a stampede outside warm-up match between Nigeria & North Korea

That's awful. Does every event have to start with a tragedy?

I'm talking about the Georgian that died before the Olympics in that luge crash.

Jesus Christ!

I'm watching this game (it's on live in South Korea) the stadium looks half empty.

That is just sickening.

Yes, and not that it matters one bit but Yakubu scored for Nigeria to make it 1-0 at half time. I was buzzing and came on here to talk about it and saw this thread.

Awful to hear.

The news report doesnt mention any fatalities.

A policeman was hurt in the crush and left bloodied. He was later taken away on a stretcher. Other fans who appeared to be lightly injured walked away from the scene as it calmed down.

Was it North Korea that have banned their own fans from travelling and hired Japanese actors to support their team at the World Cup or did I dream that?

Yes I can't find anything anywhere about people dying. Let's hope that is the case.

They know none of them would return home to live in hell again. Plus very few of them are rich enough to even eat well, never mind travel. I bet the players themselves are watched constantly incase they disappear.

I guess the reports of 42 deaths were wrong? I'm not seeing anything about any deaths. A North Korean cover-up?
