Well why don't people state the source.
Jesus Christ is signing for Real Madrid, just heard it. Where???? [Poor language removed] Grapevine FM?
I am chilled, suprisingly.
But over the past 5 years on all sites, and around transfer window time, people talk crap about rumours, and no one can source the rumour.
But then these rumours get into the hands of the unintelligent and they go round the pubs and so on.
Then people get annoyed at the manager because he never signed someone he was never going to sign in the first place.
If someone says "oh its on this site, or I heard on SSN, or the BBC, or City, then it has more credibility then "I heard it on the news" or "My uncles friend is delivering another fridge to Bellefield and such and such is there".
I'm sorry if my reactions are all little passionate, but that's me. I'm passionate about my club, and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I know plenty of part time Evertonians and I'm not talking about anyone here, and they couldn't care less and talk about possible signings weeks after they signed for someone else.
So I'm not always necessarily wound up, just passionate. Remember too that emotion is almost impossible to clearly be illustrated on a forum.
Spoken like a gent.
I too am passionate about my club but I may be slightly different in that I enjoy the specualtion that comes with pre season, it throws up a lot of what ifs?? What if we signed Riquelme and he played in the middle with Arteta and Cahill? What if we signed Saha and played him upfront with AJ?
It gets people talking and salivating over prospects that could enhance our team. Without speculation this place would be half as busy as it is now.
Totally agree, but its the same reason I don't buy The Star or The News of The World, the [Poor language removed] is spews. I'd rather read the Post or the Echo, at least it has its interests in the club rather than selling sensational tales to the nation.
A credible rumour is more interesting then a vacant one.
What is a credible rumour? If a certain paper says a certain story does that make it more credible than hundreds if not thousands of people posting/writing about it?
The things is Nolan has been a rumour for years, he was apparently close to signing a few years back and was actually seen at Bellefield, that is why people keep bringing him up.
