ToffeeDan

in memoriam - 1961-2023
1970s...

Flairs, flares, bad haircut, Chuckaway Blue cushion, wooden rattle... brand spanking new colour proey (Mick Lyons at home with his missus and his Ally). Tetley Bitter. Pink Footie Echoes.

Colin Harvey sideburns. Alan Ball white boots.. Dai the Drop.. Brand new electric scoreboard (Everton 8 Southampton 0)

And whatever else you can remember.

My first game was against Birmingham, December 1976. Went in the old park end stand and one of the things I always remember that day was the smell of pipe tobacco from the old fellas sitting up there near us. Obviously people can't smoke at their seats now, (you don't even see many smoking pipes these days)although now you do get a whiff of a different type of tobacco from the bogs at half time!

The chants…..

”Everton are magic,Everton are magic, la la la la”….

”Tell me Ma, me Ma…to keep the champagne on ice, we’re going to Wembley twice..”….

”We all agree…Duncan McKenzie is magic..”….

and best of all…..”Bobby Latchford walks on water..”….

Oh, happy days…. :pint2:

Bovril and pies that took off the skin in your mouth.
Lads carrying a box or little bench to stand on.
Getting in early, about an hour and a half before the game to get a good spec, and then some arl fella turns up at 5 to 3 stinking of ale and ciggies and takes your spec.
