I’ll renew my season ticket no matter what. If we eventually drop to League Two and end up playing the likes of bloody Solihull Moors I’ll still be cheering on our players at Goodison - for as long as it still passes its safety certificate!!

Ultimately boycotting our club only makes it weaker and further helps our rivals.

I’m not naive enough to presume that our fan base and our attendances will be unaffected by playing in the lower leagues, though. If we get relegated to the Championship we will be greatly diminished as a club and the future kids of this city will almost exclusively choose the RS. Lower league clubs are not remotely glamorous and receive scant media coverage.

Relegation would be disastrous for this club. I don’t think it’s likely to happen, though. Sunday is crucial. Goodison must be like a bear pit from the first whistle to the last. Sir Alex was on today saying that our home matches will save us because of the 12th man factor.
