I was thinking today about generations, and how far we can go back before we lose human contact. What I mean is, I can speak to my Grandad who can tell me about his Grandad, but is unable to tell me about his Grandad's Grandad because he never met him.
Well when I was 7 in 1982, I met my Great Grandad who was around 90 odd. He was born in 1892. Although I can't remember him telling me anything, it could be possible that he knew his Great Grandad, who would have been born around 1800.
Ok, its a little mad for a saturday, but at least it breaks the dull ache of waiting.
The upshot is, I could have spoken to a man who knew a man who was born 200 years ago. And then if I live to 90-100 myself then the link is 300 years.
God I'm bored, time to get drunk I feel.
