Love looking at old photos of my home city so thought we could have a thread to post such images. Always amazes me that whilst people, clothing, vehicles etc change with time many of the old buildings survive through the times.

I’ve been born & raised in Liverpool, here’s one of famous Scotland Road. Bit of trivia, but the longest corridor on the Titanic was actually called Scotland Road.

Before anybody asks, that’s not me on the crossing!!

Is that you on the crossing mate?

…..Dockers Umbrella. Such a shame city planners didn’t have the foresight to keep it.

Always thought British city planning has been pretty terrible right up to this day with regards to demolishing0 old buildings.
Loads of amazing places have been lost over the years and replaced with the likes of Debenhams or some weird malls with identikit bars that will look horrific in 10/20 years and probably get pulled down again. Majority of city centre new builds and student housing look even worse.
This isn’t the case in a lot of European cities I’ve found.

….Liverpool ‘filled-in’ the original Cavern Club and turned it into a bit of land for car parking.
