Transfer Rumour Olivier Giroud

Sell Lukaku - Buy Giroud for 20m, another young striker with massive potential for 25-30m, Sandro for 5m and a top winger for around 30m.

That team would suit the managers style and system better - because frankly Lukaku doesn't suit him at all, and overall financially it makes sense also

Which much as yopu say it doesn't matter, it does mate and always will - otherwise why have chelsea sold about 170m worth of players over the last year
Chelsea have too many players their books - didn't they have thirty or so players out on loan a while ago?
We still don't have enough quality players in the squad.

It's Chelseas business model to do this mate. They buy lots of young players and farm them out - seeing their value increase and sell a huge amount of them, making huge profits on most of them and very very little risk - by the time they sell most the loan fees have basically covered already the original purchase price.

BTW this is a model we could very well be looking at following to a degree

I think you may be right on us following the Chelsea model, but it has proved a bit hit and miss for Chelsea in that they have not dominated competitions in the way that Man U did twenty years ago. Also, they do let some excellent players go - like Lukaku for instance.

Would argue when united dominated it was easier with less competition at the very top, also United for want of a better word got lucky in producing Neville, Scholes, Giggs, Beckham all within a year or two of each other - 4 world class players in their positions for nothing effectively, they also produced 3-4 good quality squad players like Butt, Neville, Sharpe around the same time, which made such a massive difference

No footy model is perfect but having one which ultimately is self sustainable is the best long term

Im on the fence about Giroud, he is a proven PL goal scorer, but he is pretty hot and cold for me, a bit one dimensional, think he would struggle a bit to break with pace and has a limited shelf life, it would be a 2-3 year solution. He would be one of a couple of signings to my mind.

I find it hard to equivocally state I don't want this or that player to come to us, as I might end up cheering them when they turn out for us.

I think the only exception I have ever made to this was Barton.

I don't really want Giroud but I'd support him if he was ours.

I can't really understand why he's been on the bench so much for Arsenal. Nearly every time he plays/comes on he scores

is it accommodate Sanchez better? Are arsenal trying to play a row of attacking midfielders and no centre forward?
