On this day (well, tomorrow actually) 5th October 1968. My first trip to Selhurst Park. We lived 35 miles away which might as well have been the moon for a 12 year old in those days. Anyhow, went with a mate and his Dad.
Palace 1 Sheffield United 1. Stood on the old grass bank at the top of the Whitehorse Lane terrace. The Arthur Waite stand was under construction and the main stand still had a standing paddock at the front for the full length of the pitch.
A beautiful early autumn day. Like it was yesterday not 56 years!

…seemed like every team had a star player around those times, who was with Palace then? Maybe Tony Currie playing for Sheff Utd, he was talented.
