GhostOfDixie

Player Valuation: £70m
Classic De Niro and James Woods, beautiful soundtrack, immense cinematography. Long, but still worth great. Sergio Leone at his best.

Anybody seen it? I've seen it a few times and each time I watch it I understand it a little bit more. Very open to interpretation, especially the ending.

Anyone want to discuss this cinematic beauty?

No, watched some of it ages ago, thought it was very boring, might watch it again sometime, its on for about 12 hours aint it?

Depends what you like. If you like a good story and not some **** on a fast bike doing back flips then watch it again. :)

I think it's about 3 half to 4 hours in total. It's on 2 disks.

I think theres a longer version than 4 hours isnt there, isnt the directors cut massive?

Yeah your right

Original version is 322 minutes, which is 5 hours 22 minutes. Damn that's a long film. May need to get hold of that version - the one I have is only 229 minutes.

RUNTIME........: 03:50:01

Ive just found a copy, downloading it now, will watch it sometime I have a spare 4 hours.

Thankfully only the small version.

The first cut of the movie was over five hours but this cut was never finished. The released finished director's cut is the 229 minute version. There isn't a longer cut of the movie out there.

I should watch this one again. I hope they come out with a Blu-Ray in the near future.

His absolute best work, in my opinion, is Once Upon a Time in the West. Henry Fonda, Jason Robards and Charles Bronson do a spectacular job in the movie.

In fact, the Man with No Name triliogy is considered Sergio Leone's warm-up movies, culminating in this cinematic master-piece.

Well I love De Niro obviously, and I love the way it makes you think throughout.

Mobsters was a good film in a popcorn type of way. Road to Perdition was very dark, American Gangster was ok. All the british gangster moves are all the same and centred around cockneys from the east end.

This one is around the Jewish element of the US gangster scene, and to see the nation grow up from the 20's through the early 70s I believe, and the music, it's just got what I want from a pure gangster film.

Nice cameo from Pesci also.
