Hi,
Can anyone a bit more technically minded than me explain a few things about how live streaming works?
I live abroad (in the far east) and for a few years now, when games haven't been on my cable TV, I've used various sites in order to watch the football online.
Can someone explain how streaming works and also why there is such variety and inconsistency in the quality of streams available? And also, why the overall quality of the streams seems to be deteriorating rather than improving?
As I say, I've used online streaming for years and it used to be a passable way of watching the game. 2 years ago, using live streaming, I watched every single game Everton played in the UEFA up to and including Fiorentina (about 600 games in total) and the quality of the picture was more or less consistently good. However, these days I can't seem to find a single watchable stream. I have a fast internet connection, I use all different sites, which i won't list here, and all the different kinds of software for streaming (including those sites which don't require any software) and it's becoming damn near impossible to get a watchable link.
So, apart from the technical explanation side, I'd be very grateful if anyone knew of a good way to watch the blues live online. Any Premiership match I'm fine, Champions League I'm fine, but while the blues are still in the lowly Europa League it's tougher and tougher to find a way to watch it.
I'd be very happy and surprised if someone could sort out all my streaming woes before kick-off tonight.. i've laid down the gauntlet..
