our 59 million payment from EPL

Combination of finishing position, guaranteed payment & TV game money.
Last season it was:

£13.8M (UK TV rights) + £17.9M (Overseas TV rights) + £7.2M (TV matches) + £10.6M (finishing 7th) = Total £49.6M

If you uplift this by 5% (although I suspect we were on TV a bit less that element included a minimum of £5.8M) you get around £52M

What is interesting from the figures is the disparity regarding how often we're shown live on Sky. Apparently last year we were shown just 10 times, which is the minimum Sky are allowed to show teams. Liverpool by contrast were shown 22 times.

The minimum can't be 10 - firstly we were shown 8 times this season & secondly to achieve that there would need to be at least 175 live games per season to ensure that every team was on 10 times (since it wouldn't be 20 x 10 exactly). Certainly Wolves weren't shown 10 times - maybe 5. There were 138 live games per season (an average of 3.5 per set of games) - or an average of 13.8 per team (clearly we know this is skewed with the more "popular" sides getting around 20-25 games live. Next season it will rise to 154.

Being shown on tele is worth half a mill. We were mostly shown against better sides.

Shows what sky think of our size of fanbase and entertainment value.

Got the stat from Toffeeweb

Everton were on live in the UK just 10 times — the minimum stipulated, the same as Bolton, Stoke, Sunderland, Wolves, Wigan and Swansea — while neighbours Liverpool, who would finish lower than the Blues in the Premier League table in the end, were on 23 times. The Manchester sides were on live 51 times between them.

Got this from NSNO, From the Premier League, each team receives
£13.7m domestic TV money
£18.7m overseas TV money
£570k for each televised game
£755k for each league position

The Blues will also net over £1m from prize money from The FA for their progress in the competition and could earn another £1m from the TV revenue that comes from having extended highlights shown as well as full coverage of the semi final at Wembley.

If that is to be believed and added up we should've netted £54.855 million including the FA money and highlights. I think that pretty much covers our entire wage bill. So why can't we have a small transfer kitty from our ticket sales and sponsorship?

you are forgetting the massive amounts of interest we a re paying back to the banks unfortunately, thats why we are down by 5 mil each year..

We were shown 7 times less on TV this year according to Elstone, so the income has gone down significantly coupled with the large decrease in attendances. We'll have even less than what we had to spend last summer, so we'll have negative transfer budget !

When the TV and League money cover wages and running costs then the transfer kitty comes from what....

....Bums on seats in the ground
....Corporate
....Sponsorship & advertising.

We cant sell out Goodison because of the many many massively obstructed views.

When I saw us play away at West Brom this season, it became clear why we are on telly so rarely. Dreadful attempt at playing football. If we get a rep for being worth watching (like we were towards the end of the season) then people will want to watch us. It's not rocket surgery! ;)
