Sad news being given by SSN, Gazza was arrested last night at a hotel in Gateshead and has now been sectioned under the mental health act. Such a talented lad it seems can no longer live up to his hype. So called friends say they have expected it, nice when you consider most have been hangers on,

Get well soon lad and keep out of the limelight, it'll be easier for you. I think what happened to Frank Bruno springs to mind.

its a bit distant but maybe the medication he is taking after surgery combined with alcohol he surely isnt allowed during recovery (at least) have had an effect on his mental state.

hes only 40.

there is surely a place for him in football if he can get his act together.

It's a pity that this action wasn't taken years ago in a bid to give him a stable mindset, his life could have been so different now had he or someone had the foresight to see that he clearly needed help, i feel for the guy, poor [Poor language removed] knows nothing else except football.

Gazza's a ledge! One of our family friends was playing in the Boston Academy when he had a spell there a few years back. I never got to meet him personally but our mate said he was a really nice bloke, and he got me an autograph so I was made up (y)

There is definitely a job in football for him. Unfortunately, he needs to kick the booze if he's going to get anywhere - didn't he get sacked as Boston manager after a couple of weeks because of the booze?

He could have been the best player in the world but needed a strong manager. It's a pity he didn't join Man Utd when he had the chance as I think Ferguson would have sorted him out.

Something in the British football mentality which treats supremely talented players with deep-rooted mistrust. A lot of self-destruct cases admittedly. But also a lot of cases of managers not knowing how to get the best out of these guys. I still remember in the 80s watching Glen Hoddle doing things that no-one else could do, while the media repeatedly said that Brian Robson was our only world class player. In a country where Dennis Wise gets picked before Le Tissier, Chris Waddle was the Wembley boo boy, and Jim Pearson is prefered to Duncan Mckenzie........... I need a drink!!!
