i think they should have a shoot-out comp, like the 20/20 of football, every team from the leagues in one big league, there can be music and razzamatazz like the darts. they couldhave a tournament at wimbledon using the courts, fire the strawberry munchers off.

anyway we're brill at 'em now, scoring our 2nd and them missing was like getting that important square in a game of noughts and crosses, they then had to score to avoid loss but still leaving it open for us to take it. the guy next to me just said "im off, cant watch pens" i hope he did watch from somewhere, cos when they are like that i could watch 'em at the end of every draw.

Winning by penalties is the ultimate, though. Yeah, it's horrible when you lose but nothing comes close to that 10 minutes or so of sheer drama, which culminates in complete intoxication with the moment, when that final goal goes in. Unbelievable feeling and probably better than sex and drugs combined. Well, nearly better.

I'll tell you something, though. During those penalties something was released into my body via the brain. I haven't felt so whacked since the 1990s. God knows what it would have been like seeing it in person. It got me even worse than seeing us win an FA cup, league championship and Cup Winners Cup combined.

football players are supposed to be men, and should settle the game in a more manly way. i propose indefinite 15 minute periods of golden goal until a winner is declared. play till you collapse, theres no more pacing yourself at that point its just about do or die. no additional subs either, so it will become a rare thing for teams to finish games with 11 players on the pitch.

would cause some problems with broadcasting and would be exhausting to the players, but god damn would that be fun to watch. you know that feeling of anticipation during pk shootouts, imagine having that for 2 or 3 hours as both teams play on but fail to score.

Think I had about six heart attacks during last Sundays shoot out. I absolutely hate penalty shoot outs.
