You’ve got to imagine he’d be replacing Slugurdsson though. It’s not my ideal signing purely because of age and wages, I think we could find a better investment long term for a similar price and half the wages.
 
Just seen a stat that out of 140games he should have been able to play in since joining barca, he has missed 39 which equates to 28% of games missed.

Now ask yourself with James already here is that a good idea?

Depends how you play your midfield. If we had allan and Doucoure sit back and plug the gaps left by letting your wingers and fullbacks attack with james dictating play. I doubt we'd be left that exposed and we'd be able to be very attacking.

Its all about the energy in the center of the park. If we have high energy we can defend against counter attacks. Liverpool literally won the league by throwing everyone forward and leaving 2 energetic cm and cb back to cover the counter attacks.

Tbf to the lad a large chunk of that is because he suffered a knee injury in December an he won't be back till late May.

Still missing the games and he's nearly 29 which in my opinion isn't anything that should come into consideration but i know a lot don't like anyone over24 with no resale value.

For me if he comes he comes, am I overly excited by it not really but at the same time he is a step up from a lot of our players. just think we need to think about his injury record given how many injuries we seem to get.

The priority is bringing in pacey cover for Doucoure and Allan as our midfield options are shockingly poor and I dont think Gbamin will ever play regulary blokes made of glass.

I'm not sure it is paper talk though, there are a few stories this morning suggesting this is being pushed by Kia Joorabchin (Moshiris best mate) which if true would mean it's coming right from Mosh himself. I'm not keen on Mosh telling Carlo/Brands what players to buy, think we need to wait an see what happens tbh. Also just on another thing Bernard will be replaced by Gordon next season, it got mentioned on something the other day.

Not sure Gordon will have a future under Carlo myself but we'll see - doesnt sound like hes impressed that much whilst out on loan.

As you say on Coutinho though his agent is good mates with Moshiri however that may be more his agent using us to drum up interest from other clubs.

Providing we get a good fee for Kean and we move our arses with this stadium financing if we can get the USM naming rights in pay for this coming year there should be dough there to spend in the summer.

Yes but your point was that he seems injury prone which he isnt.

In the near 5 years before that injury he only missed 39 games which is about 7-8 games a season and some of those missed games was him blagging he was injured because the RS wouldn't sell him.

As i said I'd be happy to have him at everton but only after we've signed a rapid attacking winger, a fast attacking RB and a energetic midfielder. They have to be a priority, after that I think he'd be a good signing. If we were to get him in as our winger or midfielder I wouldn't be too happy about it but in addition too I'd be happy.

Exactly, long list of players who have played for both. That alone shouldn't be a reason to reject the idea of it.
 
At least with this media boycott we can have 4 days of dreaming this may happen, depending in which camp you sit. Before bad news Kirkbride says it’s not happening. Only loans and frees this summer
