[imga=left]http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en-commons/thumb/1/13/180px-Steven_Pienaar.jpg[/imga]Steven Pienaar has agreed personal terms and will officially become Evertons second summer signing as soon as his work permit application is approved.

The versatile 25-year-old will sign a one-year loan deal with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season

As we first reported, the South African midfielder completed his medical Yesterday and will fly out to join the rest of the squad in America by the weekend.

Johann Vogels move from Real Betis is now reported to be in doubt.

he didn't play for chelsea. ajax then dortmund. I could be wrong. if he can play more than 6 games per season then it's an improvement on AVDM.

A lad with great potential who went through a [Poor language removed] spell at Dortmund. Moyes likes to bring the best out of these players. Remember Arteta was not getting a game at Sociedad.

He has pace to burn.
He can play left wing.
He likes to take on the man.
He's not costing anything (for this year)

He fits the bill, if he produces half of what Arteta has then we have a bargain and turn it into a permanent thing. Better than paying 5.3 million for Koumas anyday.

Just what we have been crying out for a good signing just hope he gets a work permit

Your making my mouth water already.(y)

I feel the same way. If he does come good for us will the amount to extend and bring him full time to Goodison be out of our reach financially. I always struggle with loaners. It seems like a damned if you do or damned if you don't prospect.

Work permit should be a formality as he is a first choice international. Without wanting to jinx anything, guys, this could be as good a signing as Lescott was.

Let see how he turns out.

Theres one thing to bear in mind, he looks like Fernandes and if he's any good then who would you want:

Fernandes for 12 or this Pienaar cat for 2 million?

A leap of faith granted, but I dont see anyone biting Benfica's hand off for that price. Theyve tried to take the piss out of us by assuming all English clubs will pay silly money. Not the tight ginger one.

PS My mistake bit confused not an EU citizen so permit needed. Bit of a so and so about Africa Cup, Yobo, Anichebe and no Pienaar.

so does he help the squad that much or not?

still a great signing just a shame he will be out for so long.
