Any deal for the 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund left-sided midfielder is predicted to be one-year loan deal with the option of a permanent move.

The South African international is a player with a big reputation and would be a major coup for David Moyes. Last summer a host of Premier League clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool considered a bid for the 25-year-old but Dortmund stepped in first to snap up the promising midfielder with the intention of him replacing Tomas Rosicky and upon signing Piernaar from Dutch side Ajax, Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said: "We're lucky to get a player of this quality, who has at his age acquired a lot of international experience in the Champions League and international games,"

However, the move to the Bundesliga has not been as successful as Pienaar would have hoped and he is now expected to test his ability in the Premiership.

Watch him in action.

You're such a buzz kill! This deal is a slam dunk, just like Iraq! :o

Mick you will be proud of me, I'm watching this hook go floating by b) (y)

well, if Arsenal and the [Poor language removed] were thinking about buying him one season ago, whats to stop them now?

Remember sissoko??

arsenal bought rosicky, and the [Poor language removed] still have kewell (hahahahahaaha)

so neither has space for him, anyway, hes gone off the boil at dortmund, so other sides might not take the chance.

would love it if he did arrive, imagine having the left side of midfield tied up for the next 5 years!(y)

its all i do imagine, a good left footer that can unburden arteta. bliss.

and THATS the point, will he be good?

Worth a shot I guess, these two signings if they go ahead, would they appease all the "sign players now!" brigade?

If he does come along with Vogel certainly adding to squad strength, hope it comes off.

At it again Rob trying to stir [Poor language removed] up, how about shutting up.
