Pineapple? Pizza? Pastie?

As we know, the pineapple on pizza debate is ongoing. Many talk about their favourite pasites and bakeries. I'm about to spark a new war...

Its near enough a Pineapple Pizza Pasty and I'm going to make one!

This recipe mixes the sweetness of pineapple with the much more savoury taste of cheese. Pasties are a Scottish type of snack which is a cross between a "sausage roll" and a "pie".


Cheese and Pineapple Pasties
Ingredients:

• 175 g (6 oz) shortcrust pastry
• 1 egg, size 3, beaten
• 25 g (1 oz) margarine (or butter), melted
• 75 g (3 oz) Cheddar cheese, grated
• 2 rings pineapple, chopped
• Salt and pepper
• Beaten egg, to glaze
• Sesame seeds, to sprinkle over pastry, optional

There's too much fruit knocking about nowadays, and I think this is why we're told to eat five pieces a day - it's to get rid of it all. Once I was drinking some orange cordial and thought "this tastes a bit weird" and looked at the label. It wasn't just orange, they'd gone and slipped in some pineapple that they couldn't get rid of. This is happening more and more.

that's why they are putting it on pizza's. Just too many uneaten chunks out there.

i do like pineapple just not on pizza or in a pastie.

i purchased many on the beach in indonesia, gilli air which is off lombok as i remember, couple of pence at the most and the young maiden carved them into like a spiral malarky,fantastic to watch her do it with a huge great machete, she had a very deft touch, so deft i wouldve let her shave my scrote with it.
