End time: 7:00am central 03/09/10
Expected Outage/Downtime: 3 hours

During this maintenance window, you will experience one or more brief interruptions in service while we complete the maintenance activities; the interruptions are expected to last less than 3 hours total. However, due to the complexity of the work, your downtime may be longer. Customers may also see some reconvergence during the maintenance window.

My basic math may be failing me, but isn't 7 - 3 actually 4??

So wouldn't it make sense for them to say our expected downtime will be 4 hours? I mean by putting 3 they do look a bit daft, and may as well have said 27 hours downtime.

Thats the timeframe "one or more brief interruptions in service" will occur, that may add up to less than three hours in total.

I take it this happened yesterday, as opposed to an early warning regarding September.
