Am I the only one to look upon these awards as a complete and utter joke?

Isn't it time players were rewarded for performance on the pitch instead of reputation?

How many games has Torres played this season for example, or even that cheating diving horrible little .......?

Unless you play for the big teams, forget it. (n)

Firstly. World Football.

Secondly. Rooney is da bomb.

Love or Hate, he is the best in the world currently.

Vermaelen at 150/1 he's a good shout for PFA. But the fact that Lampard is 25/1 world player and only 33/1 PFA shows what a mockery the world player awards are, purely reputation and saleability.

For me, domestically, Rooney has done well, but why isn't Richard Dunne in the reckoning, who has been nothing short of awesome for Villa this year?

The other thing is why do they call it 'World' footballer of the year?
It's based on one continent, and not seven.

Africa
North America
South America
Asia
Australia
Antartica
Europe

1st Lionel Messi Argentina 09
1st Kaká Brazil 07

Not really from europe are they?

They ply their trade in European Leagues.
Can you tell me who the best player is in any lesser known leagues, without having to Google, because I'll bet the pfa or fifa don't know either.

I guess you could ask our brothers(whom I hold dear to my heart) from across the pond something.

Why is is it called the "World Series"?

Just a name XX

If there were players in lesser known leagues with the talent of Messi and Kaka, I'm sure someone would scouted them by now. And if not, they will.
