Yes, isnt it brilliant a player were trying to sell is doing badly.

What a daft comment.
We ain't selling him anyway hence why Southampton didn't even try for a buy clause. He'll probably have to go abroad after his contract ends with us after proving himself not only not Premier League level, but not even Championship standard.

Well with WBA on loan he was getting good reviews. So he is championship level, just perhaps not suited to Southampton.

He has a deal until 2025 so id have expected fans to want him to do well which would encourage buyers.

Also you have no idea if they wanted a buy option or not.

….I think it’s down to application with Holgate. His best spell was after he returned from West Brom and forced his way into the reckoning because we failed to bring in a CB in that window.

I‘ve never rated him but think he is the type who can knuckle down, especially when it’s in his own interest. It’s a long old season, I suspect he’ll get another opportunity.

His body language in that Southampton v Boro game was the worst i've seen in a footballer for a long time.

To be fair to the lad moving from one club in perma crisis to another might not be the best to help him motivate himself, but as has been said, a move away from the UK might be the only thing to re ignite that fire we saw when Silva & Ancelotti were here

Mason Holgate back on the bench and not brought on for Southampton who won 3-1 at home to Leeds. Soton are 10th.

Lewis Warrington also on the bench and didn't get on for Plymouth who drew 1-1 at Hull. Plymouth are 13th.

Same for Stanley Mills who didn't come on for Oxford United who won 3-1 at Stevenage. They go 2nd.

Reece Welch at least played 90 minutes for Forest Green but they lost 2-1 at home to Morecambe. They are 22nd.

Harry Tyrer's Chesterfield drew 1-1 at Maidenhead but stay top.

No game for Zan-Luk Leban's Farsley as they were eliminated from the FA Cup last round.

Neil Maupay came on for Brentford after 75 minutes with the score 1-1 as they tried to force a winner v ten man Forest. It finished all square.

Imagine being a striker in League 1 or 2 on pretty low wages (for a pro footballer) and seeing this fraud earning big money. You'd be sat there thinking I could do what he does, be crap in the Prem.

A good write up for Harry Tyrer , plus interview , on the OS where he talks well and comes over as very mature for one so young.

Overview: Tyrer picked up Chesterfield’s Player of the Match award as the Spireites earned a point on the road. Chesterfield, who sit top of the National League, had won seven in a row ahead of Saturday’s fixture. Tyrer’s second-half saves in the 74th and 77th minute kept his side in the game at 1-1, and they’ll be hoping to successfully defend their unbeaten run when they welcome fellow high-flyers Bromley on Tuesday evening.

Another good win for Southampton with Mason Holgate on the bench. He was brought on in stoppage time to see out the win (or just to waste time?). They won 1-0 at Stoke and are now 9th.

Lewis Warrington was not brought off the bench despite Plymouth needing to chase the game. They lost 2-0 at home to Millwall and are 15th.

Splinters too for Stanley Mills whose Oxford United had a 3-0 win against 10 man Shrewsbury. They are 2nd. @Oxford - any ideas why he isn't getting a chance? He scored and assisted a couple of weeks ago but has now been on the bench the last 2 matches.

Yet another defeat for Reece Welch's Forest Green 2-0 away to Stockport. At least he is getting a regular 90 minutes. They are 23rd.

A clean sheet for Harry Tyrer as Chesterfield win 2-0 v Bromley. 3 points clear at the top.

Neal Maupay came on for Brentford after 70 minutes with his team winning 1-0 at Old Trafford. He got booked and then Brentford conceded 2 late goals to lose 2-1. Not really sure if them losing was his fault and I actually hope he does well so we can sell him on. But quite funny.

Mason Holgate on the bench all game as Southampton drew 1-1 at home to Rotherham. Saints are 10th

Lewis Warrington also didn't get on the pitch as Plymouth lost 3-1 at home to Swansea. Plymouth 18th.

Stanley Mills finally got some action coming on at half time with Oxford United winning 1-0 at home to Bristol Rovers. The Gas had a man sent off and then Oxford went 2-0 up on 80 minutes. The visitors pulled a goal back and then Oxford had 2 men sent off in stoppage time including Stanley Mills for a dangerous tackle. Oxford held out to win and are 2nd with a game in hand.

The usual 90 minutes for Reece Welch for Forest Green who lost 2-1 at Accrington. Forest Green are now bottom.

Another clean sheet for Harry Tyrer whose Chesterfield won 2-0 at Boreham Wood. Chesterfield 6 points clear at the top with an extra game played.

Zan-Luk Leban's Farsley won 2-1 at Scarborough. Farsley are 12th.

Great loans for the young keepers, regular game time in winning sides but both their teams seem to play open attacking football so the keepers see plenty of action, a lot 3-2 scorelines in your reports. Playing for semi pro teams allows them to train with us with better coaches and facilities midweek whilst playing competitive football at a level above under 21’s at weekends. That’s perfect until they’ve put down enough data to convince a team at a higher level with better coaching to take them on and test them at that level. Their development during these loans will decide the level they end up playing, it’s not rocket science but developing young keepers is something we’ve not done well in the past despite signing lots of them. Maybe this new approach will fare better, Pickford had similar loans I think as a youth at Sunderland.
