And so the transfer threads start...

Just a bit optimistic but;
  • Lucho Gonzales - Pure quality who would add tenacity and goals from midfield.
  • Peter Crouch - am not arsed, he scores goals, just as well their idiot of a manager cant see it, him an Torres would have given their point tally quite a bump up. He's also a complete professional. If he came here he would be a hero. Highly unlikely though.
  • Andrei Arshavin - Impressed me every time I have seen him, especially in their thumping of Leverkusen.
  • Jimmy Bullard - Set pieces and work rate, would improve our squad.
  • Paul Scharner - Surprised? Again, everytime I've seen him he's done very well. He was fantastic against Villa the other day, especially considering he was next to Bramble
  • Kim Kallstrom. Obviously a very good player with one hell of a left footed shot on him.
  • Stephen Appiah - We need someone who can replace Carsley

The ones highligted i agree with, the rest (apart from Appaih) are just awful and wouldnt want anywhere near a blue shirt

I really do think they would all do well for Everton. Paul Scharner plays consistently well for Wigan, 10 goals in 70 games I think? Always looks solid whenever I have seen him.

Bullard works his arse off and can whip a dead ball in.

And it pains me to say this because I absolutely despised him, but Crouch is a very, very effective player. He cant half score them.

if we buy crouch we can save money on midfielders? as we will not need any.
our goal keeper and back four already play the long ball with johnson playing and he is only 5ft 8. Can you imagine having crouch up front we would have the best pitch in the prem as the ball would never touch it.

Spot on Danny.

I agree with all of those players.

I'd like to think that Moyes will pull some rabbits out of the hat. If we end up buying players that we all think he should buy it doesn't say much for our scouting system. I dare say few of us would have picked Cahill, Arteta, Lescott et al so I'll leave it to him.

Manny Fernandes - quality just don't disappear. He could be our key midfielder for the next 10 years. IMO he has it all, he just needs someone like Moyes to help him.
Andrei Arshavin - not many are better on the ball than what I have seen. Could he be our next Kanchelskis?
Lorik Cana - the beast in the middle - the leader who takes the game to the opposition. You don't become captain of Marseilles if you don't know how to play the game. Would give us Carsley and ball distribution in one player.
Kevin Nolan - one of my faves. Would be excellent in "the Cahill position" and would add aggression and goals.
Rafael Marquez - Pure quality both as a holding midfielder and center half. Would'nt come cheap though.

I agree with you on Paul Scharner and Jimmy Bullard as well. I like what I hear about this Aaron Ramsey as well - http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/05/06/scouting_report_aaron_ramsey_c.html

That am afraid is the problem with the rest of them, there solid enough but were not a mid table side any more and these players would not improve on the side. We need players to take us forward not stay the same

Kim Kallstrom.

Steve Sidwell.

Giles Barnes.

Tom Huddlestone.

Mike Bradley.

Plus a big name player, someone like Arshavin or Tymoszuck (sp)

im trying to think who has played well against us this year.

frey
osvaldo(i think it was him, played on the left wing for fiorentina?)
edmar
barry
krankjar (spelling ???)
arshavin
ghaly

then theres players i think will do a job for us...

kallstrom
downing
huddlestone
bently
crouch

i think we need 1 def ,2 mid and 1 striker atleast added to what we have already.

Fernandes (try for a loan again, if not, then no more than 7-8M)
Bradley (3M)
Arshavin (10M)

Those three right there would be an excellent haul for the summer and would fit within Moyes' budget with some room to spare.

Frey,
Gonzalaz,
Ramsey,
Barton,
Kightley,
Barnes
Lennon
S.W.P.
Downing
Ryan Taylor,
Young Cenre Half, Beevers or Stearmann.

*Peter ramage left the Barcodes today as he wants first team football and refused to sin a new deal, could be a good/inexpensive addition.

Keep an eye out for Scannell and Moses in the playoffs for Palace to great talents especially Moses.

I think we need a combination of 2-3 top quality players who will improve our first team and 4-5 good players who are equal to what we have now so will add strength in depth.

I'd take Arshavin, Gonzales and add David Bentley as the first 3.

There's something about Crouch i just dont like, maybe its the the fact he plays for the [Poor language removed] i dont but i just couldn't find myself getting behind him, even if he scored loads. Him in an Everton shirt just doesn't seem right to me. Even though i do think as a player he would make a decent buy.

Bullard, Huddleston, Kallstram, Bradley and another striker (dont know who) would be nice.

Any of the following:

Arshavin - Great Talent, exactly what we need
Joaquin - "
Kallstrom - "

Owen - Already ruled out by Moyes - but maybe johnson part ex?
Appiah - Good player, and would be good in our squad, we need a good CM
J. Cole - Skillful, but a bit of a bad attitude
Pasqual - Saw him against us for fiorentina - great left back
Fernandes - Good, but have we seen enough from him?
Bradley - Sounds like a great buy
Milner - Good English player for the future

:) I could seeing us signing two of those players, Bradley and Arshavin - Joaquin, kallstrom, fernandes, appiah and bradley have all been rumoured with us in teh past, and Owen, Cole, Pasqual and Milner are just players added by me :)

Wouldnt i be a terrible manager?! i wouldve spent about £60 million...haha
