"The clause in the law under which Suarez was dismissed was the denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. The problem is that Ghana were denied a goal, not just the opportunity to score one. A penalty-goal in these circumstances would be appropriate."
Sounds like quite a good idea. He suggests in instances such as this, where a player denies an actual goal, as opposed to an opportunity, they would get a yellow and a penalty goal against them. Of course then Phil Neville would be slightly less of a Hero to us all....

Thoughts?

Why can't we just leave the game as it is, it is the greatest game on earth and the most popular, if it ain't broke don't fix it, and anything Graham Poll suggests should immediatly be disCARDED as he is a total bulb.

Its not a goal till it goes in though is it?

Bring that law in and just wait till a ref awards one cause he thought the ball was going in but tv replays showed it was gonna hit the post and fans, pundits and idiots worldwide whinge and moan about how crap the ref is.

Neville was a hero coz there was still plenty of time left in the game. What if Suarez had done that in the 15th minute intead of the 120th

This is exactly what I was promulgating quite a few days ago after the Uruguay/Ghana game. Also made the point if Everton were on the receiving end many would feel the same.
