Pompey v's Brum Fa cup

Same old story, hang on, Brum goal just not given and it was over the line, Ridgewell can't believe it not given.
Anyway, same old story, players under pressure to keep the club up and alive couldn't be bothered to turn performances in, yet when they are effectively relegated and the pressure is off they start to play again. Maybe they are playing to put themselves in the shop window, maybe they are now playing for pride, but once again when a clubs fate is sealed their fortunes turn around. Wonder where Piquione will be playing next year and how many he might get with a reasonable midfield supplying him.

On the day that the International Football Association Board announced that goal-line technology will not be pursued in the future, the inevitable happens. Idiots.

They are stubborn for the sake of being stubborn.
It should be up to each leagues governing body if they want to introduce it or not.

Blatant Brum goal not given there. About a foot over the line.

While it was blatant, I think I can look the other way on that. Pompey haven't gotten much luck this season. I say let them have their moment. Besides, the revenue they'll receive for reaching the FA Cup Semis is over £600,000 (which, I need not remind you, is money they desperately need).

Anyone else watching Arsenal-Burnley?

Bendtner must have bet on Burnley to win or something cause he's missed numerous very good chances to score, feel sorry for the lad but can't help laughing.

Yeah I'm watching online. I agree that he's missed some glorious chances today. They're probably gonna win at this rate (I don't think Burnley are gonna be able to just take it down the pitch and equalize in a matter of minutes the way Arsenal are playing), so his poor finishing won't be that big a factor.

Congrats to Portsmouth.

Wouldn't mind seeing them win it again, especially with all they've gone through this season.

pleased that Portsmouth won, it's easy to put down the opposition after they put us out of the competition on a poor afternoon :@, but all the same, good for the South coast club that they are within touching distance of another FA cup final just two years after winning the trophy.

Can you imagine supporters being at Wembley in 2008 and watching their team win the FA cup, and honestly thinking they may, or will not see such scenes again in their lifetimes, make the most of the afternoon, Portsmouth have won the FA cup, that's a once in a lifetime moment for all invloved they must have been thinking, and lo and behold they are into the semi-finals once again, and it looks like semi-finals will be at Wembley again.

they should be played at neutral venues, it just spoils the damn fun of getting to the final, they first did this in 1991 for the North London derby match, they said at the time it would not happen again, that it was a one off, and since then it's been pretty frequent.

in ten years time I'll bet that even quarter finals will be staged there. :dodgy:
