One of my little go to cheap lunches is a Pot Noodle. Specifically the Bombay Bad Boy. In work today, without conferring, 3 of us rocked in with Pot Noodles for lunch. Each of us made this small but delicious snack differently.

I punch a hole in the dried noodle so the boiling water can get to the bottom quickly. A stir after a mine, a stir after 3 minutes, add the sauce. One more stir then its goodg to eat

Workmate 1 proceeded to crunch his up before adding the water and sauce sachet. Stirred, waited 4 minutes then ate.

Workmate 2 followed the instructions to the tee. Looked like they'd never had one before as they read the instructions after each step.

Are there are other methods to creating this culinary delight? And whats your go to flavour?

Beef and Tomato or Bombay Bad Boy.

Boiling water in.

Push noodles down with fork to get any air out. Top up if necessary.

Stir well after a couple of minutes, making sure to get any residue out of the corners of the pot at the bottom.

Leave it for as long as I can be arsed.

Sauce in.

Stir again.

Eat.

The Thai Mama Tom Yam ones are better than Pot Noodle, if you can find them.

Pot noodle is for lottery winners and tories.

While teaching my go-to lunch was lidl curry (or prawn for variety) noodles in a plastic takeaway tub. 13p at the time (I was head of dept so could afford this extravagance).

Put noodles in tub, sprinkle curry flavouring sachet on, half fill the tub with boiling water, wait 30s or so, or as long as you can bear, then mush around with a fork, scoff, dribble juice down the front of your shirt and sit moaning with colleagues about that week's education minister/go out and shout at scruffs.

I get the Shin Ramen freeze fried noodles from B&M (other cheap stores are available) which are great.
