Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
i've been thinking about getting a projector for watching games on, there's some on ebay that are quite cheap compared to what they used to cost, are they worth having or what ? i fancy watching the games on a big screen but cant make my mind up wether or not to get one.

Thought they were about a grand. Saying that, it was about 7 years ago my mate got his.

Was a splendid addition to our geeky nights in.

Playing Medal of Honor in life size really takes some beating!

Also that football game that isn't FIFA but whose name eludes me is also much fun.

If you can get a bargain I say yes, go for it. Football is great on it.

I watched the Hatton fight on it a few years ago, against that guy that he had no chance of beating (australian/ukranian possibly?) and it was pretty awesome almost lifesize.

i thought they had a certain life span!!!!!!!!! as in so meny hours use then they give up!!!!!!!!!

only what i heard though!!!!!!!!!!!

most you get a spare bulb, last 6000 hrs, thats a lot of games !!! can get a spare at same time for about £30, think the older ones are expensive to replace, the new expensive ones use led's that are dead bright and very small as they dont need a fan to keep the bulb cool.... but are expensive, they have a rechargable battery and are the size of a paperback, would love 1 of those but one of the others is what i'll be getting.

I've got an Optoma HD70 projector linked to a Sky HD receiver and Xbox 360. 14 foot screen, truly staggering in HD. You can buy one of these for less than £700 now. There isn't one better for the money.

that looks great value jon.... is it not capable of a 16:9 pic though ? there are some on ebay theat do 4:3 or 16:9, also tv tuner buit in (i presume freeview but may be wrong, and also scart would be handy, i know these all add to the price but things i think you need especially to run cable tv through it.

are there some capable of being stood almost vertically to throw the picture up onto the screen/redshoites wall opposite (he has an outdoor socket so i could rob his lekky too)
