Puerta dies

Sad news today that Sevilla's Antonio Puerta has died in hospital. He collapsed on the pitch during their game with Getafe. He was only 22 and a Spanish internationl with plenty of potential.

i read about this the other day, he had a series of heart attacks didnt he? its terrible that he has passed away, i expected top notch doctors would have stabilised him.

I watched the game on Sky Suits, he went off similar to Mikel when he was flattened, never for one second thought he'd had a heart attack everyone thought he'd swallowed his tongue. A young life snatched away, RIP

True... brings back memories from a few years ago when a lot of healthy young athletes died in the SAR-Virus.

RIP Puerta. It's sad that you're gone.

22.... so young, what a sad sad thing to happen. RIP and my thoughts are with the family.

Though it was a 45 days after successful heart surgery my wife died in the same matter when her heart stopped and though they got it started again, she suffered irreperable organ damage due to lack of Oxygen for > 20 min. Its tough, I was a basketcase for a year. I wish his family and his pregnant wife well and hope they get plenty of support.

One of my teachers died of the same thing, in school a couple of months ago, same age to...

...strange how someone so young can die like that...so unexpected...

RIP, Such a talent on the pitch probably one of the future stars of spain. I wish his wife and unborn child well. I'm sure they'll both be proud of what Puerta accomplished in such a short career.
