I was a 90s teen so wasn’t my era. Could never really get into sex pistols, the damned, uk subs etc. Used to listen to more modern stuff like rancid and snuff and some of the US hardcore scene.
I believe @edge might be an authority on this subject.

It was music for rebellious youth. Rebelling against anything and everything. The fact your parents hated it helped, too.

Didn't like the Sex Pistols.

Did like The Clash, Stranglers and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Never really understood the attraction of early punk - I like my musicians to be able to play their instruments - and never understood why non musical bands were held up as standard bearers

Generally speaking, nah, most of it makes my ears bleed. Some good stuff came out of it though, and it genuinely meant that anybody who wanted to, had the opportunity to express themselves through music. ;)

Loved the good stuff me.

I think this can be applied to ALL genres of music TBH lol

Rubbish.

But compared with the computer generated formulaic repetitive drivel kids get served today absolute genius.
