Question about the thread consolidation

Player Valuation: £35m
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I was just curious what the motivations were for structuring the forum this way. If I remember correctly, in years past, different transfer rumor targets etc. would have their own threads.

I totally get having one thread for pure conjecture, but at least for me it was easier to keep track of discussions about different players with separate threads. Right now you will find a solid 2-3 pages of discussion about a player in which none of the posts even mention the player's name.

I understand that at least part of the reasoning for this was to make moderation easier, and to reduce front page clutter, but for instance right now the bottom threads on the front page haven't had any posts in 2 days.

The issue could just be that I'm not navigating the forum efficiently, in which case I would appreciate any tips on how to keep track of what's going on in these long threads.

Do you have unread threads hanging over you ?
Do you lie awake at night worrying ?
Do you wonder how you will deal with the next thread which springs up and requires you're attention ?

Then contact us.. Threadbusters !!! and consolidate all you're threads into one easy to read thread...

I agree.

I don't think it helps just having one massive thread for each player either and possibly limits traffic.

I rarely click on a thread that might say 'fellaini due to sign' or something similar and then see 8000 posts and stuff like that.

But imagine the other way.

We would have 50 posts an hour after somebody links all the storys from goal.com and the like.

In a normal transfer window, we get linked to must be approaching around 500 players from different news agencys, Twitter and my mate texts, in a normal transfer window, we normally sign players that we havent been linked to at all.

Keep all the tosh rumours in 1 tosh thread.

I thought we had a list of gash sites you can't post rumours from???

I like them threads anyway. It's like a competition to see who can post the most shiite and helps mark a few ********s

Tosh doesn't get enough credit, given how much he gets a mention on here. The Bill went badly down hill when he left.

The current system is fine, really. If there is a decent story linking us to a player, not from tribal football or some other s***e, then the mods will allow a dedicated thread to be made.

Fair enough, I guess I'm still not quite used to how big this site has grown, I can see how there are pros and cons to either system.
