Bainsey

Player Valuation: £20m
Stansfield had missed the Grecians' opening two matches of the season.

And the club confirmed late on Tuesday night that the former Hereford United man had passed away.

A statement on their official website read: "It is with great sadness that Exeter City Football Club have to confirm the news that Adam Stansfieldpassed away this evening.

"Our thoughts are with his wife, family and friends at this time."

Tiverton-born Stansfield began his professional career at Yeovil, before moving onto Hereford and Exeter. He made 190 league appearances, scoring 75 goals.

Just read that on SkySports. Horrible news that.

Was always getting honourable mentions on Soccer Saturday, when he scored Jeff Stelling would say something like "Lisa will be pleased"

Very sad news

But - HOW thoughtless is that comment on Sky Sports? "Stansfield had been suffering from bowel cancer and missed the Grecians' opening two matches of the season."

They might of thought he may have made a comeback though mate, or he himself might of targeted a return after treatment. Not defending Murdoch TV like, but it must of come as a total shock.
