You're correct. I was referring to his overall tenure, always compared to the RS. His record has only been bettered since by Howard Kendall.

Last saw him a couple of years back in Southport hospital,his daughter told him I was a blue as I'd assisted him with his appointment,on the way out he gave me a big smile and thumbs up,RIP Billy.

RIP Billy Bingham, Catterick was always going to be a hard act to follow but he did his best.

Sad news,he was the manager when I went to my first game v Birmingham, December 1976,he lost his job not long afterwards so I don't have the strongest memories of his time at Everton,but I certainly remember him doing brilliantly to get Northern Ireland to two world cups. R.I.P.
