Radiohead - Hail To The Thief

Have had this album for ages, just listening to it properly.

1. 2+2=5 - could only listen to half of it, was too much
2. Sit Down, Stand Up - that was too weird, and not good if you have a headache
3. Sail To The Moon - nice, very floaty
4. Backdrifts - not bad, don't really like the casio keyboard loop
5. Go To Sleep - What's going on? Thought it was the Eagles originally, and then a little weirder.
6. Where I End and You Begin - Nice, dreamy and drummy.
7. We Suck Young Blood - Weird, Whiney, Noisy. Next.
8. The Gloaming - Reminded me of that old ping pong game on the atari.
9. There There - Like this one, nice melody and crescendo. My kind of Radiohead.
10. I Will - Hmm, went quiet after 30 secs. Not sure if it is my copy of not.
11. A Punch Up At A Wedding - Like this one, favourite so far.
12. Myxamotis - Grungy
13. Scatterbrain - Nice arpeggios
14. A Wolf At The Door - Good ending track.

All in all it's not bad. I did feel like I needed to skip some tracks as it was just too loud and messy. But some nice melodies in there.

Surely Radiohead dont need 2 threads? In the other forums your asking everybody to be postitive and yet you feel the need to discuss what I can only describe as music for the unhappy.

This isn't a thread for Radiohead in general, it's a review of an album.

I'm all in for a Radiohead day, or any music discussion for that matter. Maybe were in the wrong forum?

Anyway, I like that album, yeah a few duff tracks, but generally some fascinating melodies and interesting chord progessions. Love Go To Sleep and There There. Very astute. Bass sounds amazing in all the tracks, really punchy. Its like a lead in to In Rainbows, were they generally just crank the rhythm up to 11, whilst maintaining this integrity.

I like.

Loving the last tune, reminds me of when I used to throw dice behind the synagogue in Queens around the turn of the last century,

Should be seeing Radiohead at Leeds Fest in a few weeks.

Not particularly a fan but if there's nothing else on I'll probably go watch em...
