REDS ROCKED BY Rafael QUIT THREAT | Kop boss turns down ANOTHER contract offer | Sport | News Of The World

Apparently, now they've offered him complete control of the First team squad and transfers, he wants absolute control of all academy actions.

Next week's shock headline?

Rafael THREATENS TO QUIT

After being granted full control over all first team and Academy decisions, Rafael has now thrown back his contract as it does not grant him full control over the sandwich spreads used in the staff canteen.

Rick Parry is known to favour Flora, but Benitez is a long time admirer of I Can't Believe it's not Butter, a spread he used to see utilised to great effect during his time in Madrid, waiting tables in a tapas bar down the road from the Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real. It is to this tapas bar Benitez is threatening to return if all of his demands are not met.

Translation:

"The fans are on my side, I want more money....or an excuse to go to a bigger club"

He pulled the same stunt at Valencia

You can't play them in the same team as they cover the same ground. Drop Flora, put Utterly Butterly out wide left and leave M&S own brand on the holding roll.

Don't mention the Irish butter, Rafael brought some but had to return it at a loss, absolute crackers, everyone knows Irish butter goes better on spuds.

On a serious note (wish I could join in with the utterly butterly banter), if he ends the season without a trophy he's gone. He's taken on Mr Liverpool in Parry and you need some real big guns to win that one.

If he won the league, he'd be untouchable. If he won big ears, it would extend his stay.

I wish he would stay, rs managers have a knack of making complete cocks of themselves and giving us a good laff, but I fear that he is about to enter the zone of dead man walking.

Raffa the gaffer has had his time in my opinion. The americans can't stand his insolence and sulking attiutude. I'm in your camp though Robert I fear someone that can coach some of their squad. So i'm not fussed either way. My bet is he leaves this year if he doesn't win the Champions league and Torres will be soon to follow. Watch this space.

A different angle to this is that, as poor as the relationship between Everton and Liverpool may already have been, Benitez has taken it to a new low with his "small club" and other comments.

Perhaps a new RS manager, with some class and dignity (like Moyes), could help restore at least a little of the old "friendly rivalry" relationship we used to have. Given that the original reasons behind the souring relationship are now 20 or moere years behind us.

Or am I dreaming in technicolour?

[Edit] I swear I wrote the above before I was aware of this: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/engla...res-linked-histories-of-everton-and-liverpool

I would miss his bizarre rants, his even more bizarre teams and his strange tactics.
He's having a mental breakdown right before our eyes, it would be a shame to miss out on the end result :P
