I don't think I need to explain what the asterix mean, but I will explain why I am annoyed at RS.

As many know I am a Web Designer and I run my own studio - www.nicktoye.co.uk (sorry for the shameless plug).

Well when I was starting out I did a bit of work for this other studio in Chester, I won't mention them because they don't deserve a plug. Anyway, this guy is RS, but from Birmingham. Bizarre as they have loads of teams, but he's one of those - supported them since I was a kid. Whatever, glory hunting tosser.

Anyway, he keeps telling me that he may need a designer like me to work onsite, but its always been empty promises etc....

Now, he made me an offer three days ago - 3 month contract, good money, and I went down to his studio on Wednesday to discuss it and it was all good. I had no reason to suspect that it wouldn't happen.

Now all of a sudden he has changed his mind, and that he has put it down to needing different skills than what I have, yet he knows what skills I have and offered me a contract based on those skills. So at the moment I am feeling really really pissed off, and hate the RS even more due to this [Poor language removed] prick.

There I feel better, now I can move on with my business, [Poor language removed] em!
 
Don't sweat it. When that sort of thing happens, something better comes along that makes you look back and say, "Thank goodness that deal didn't work out."
 
Yeah cheers mate, its just pissed me off that I had to go down there, make plans, sort out my diary. Just a load of bollocks that I needn't do if the RS tosser has sorted his own ship out first.

Onwards and upwards.

I was kind of expecting a tirade of abuse, or at least a short desperately witty comeback. (y)

I was only kidding, mate. I can create something that is adequate as the design of it isn't that important. She gets work by reputation and based on her qualifications. And because she only does this part time, she actually turns work away (she's currently doing media work translating English to Danish subtitles).

I actually started a website just so she can have something as a visual presence. But like I said, it's not really needed at the moment. So unimportant is it, it seems, I'm still waiting for her to give me material to put on the damn thing!
