I wrote in another thread that this was on the cards which leads me to suspect that there is something fundamentally wrong with the lad. DM was thought by many, myself included, to be first in line to sign him from PNE but he didn't even look at a bid. The lad is seen to be good enough for England so what is the problem, is he gay or something, this is most odd

certainly isn't and I'm sure that you are aware of my feelings above that tosser. There still has to be a basic fault with this lad that is not visible on the playing field, could he fart a lot, have bad breath, play with pigs or even have pictures of Chico on his wall, there has to be something

I think he doesn't want to play for Portsmouth. It smells very much like Unsworth West Ham via Villa to Everton.
Maybe an agent has been talking to dodgy 'arry and its come out that the lad wants to play for Everton, an agent up here has sounded them out and 'arry has thought, well maybe I should cash in. Now that Anelka may be available his head has turned that way, and poor old Nugent has been left high and dry.
Should have stuck out his contract at PNE, and moved to Everton for free.
I really wonder what the following think about when they are alone with their thoughts.

isn't it customary to actually play for a season before you get transferred?
otherwise people will buy a player to sell on for a profit. this is fairly disingenuous to a player who thinks he's joining a team that wants him as well.

Just watched Redknapp's interview.
Basically, this is what I deduce.
Nugent doesn't want to play for Pompey
Redknapp see's him as expendable (odd that he would pay 6m for someone he was willing to sell.
Redknapp doesn't rate him that highly (so why pay 6m for him???)
He couldn't give an answer to the reporter.
I have a feeling that we are going to be involved in what's going on here. Either Yakubu is up for going back to Pompey, and were getting Nugent instead.
Remember Harry saying that he would bid for Yakubu but not 12 million. Now he is saying that he needs to sell Nugent to raise the cash for another striker. He says he would like to get another striker. He has one, Nugent???
