Few weeks ago I was feeling optimistic, there was talk of gana and onana and I thought a forward or 2 would follow shortly after. Gana hasnt signed and we look nowhere near signing a forward. I can't see any decent options coming in up front it's to late in the day. Any player coming will be of no better standard we already have. And what we have isn't good enough to keep us up. I no its early in the season but from what I've seen of others so far is that no teams are as poor as Norwich, Watford or Burnley.

I would add Wolves to that list
I can't see it. They just signed nunes and away to spurs controlled the game and if they play like that most of the season they will have no problem picking up points. Fulham are the best of the relegated teams too and by some way. I can see Fulham even finishing top half.

This is the issue. We need 2 or 3 players who will definitely improve us and I can't see that happening either. It seems like we don't have the money and if that is the case then signing someone like onana for the future is a really bad piece of business. That money should have gone on someone for the here and now.

To win a game you need to score, that is the problem, as that rules us out.

Confidence is massive in football, how much will this team have after 8 games sitting on 2/3 points

Already four points behind Fulham. We are in real trouble. We only stayed up last season due to having a very good start.

A team which has players of the standard of Rondon and Davies in their starting 11 is going to struggle against any team in this league. The Premier League is so competitive this season that any team needs 11 players on the pitch that can be relied on to do a job, we don’t have 11 players with that ability, we don’t have players who can make up for the short comings of others. There is no doubt that DCL will improve the team when he comes back but without a shielding defender then we will be too defensively minded to supply him with chances. We are in for a big week in the transfer market, one which will shape the rest of this and maybe coming seasons. If the Board fail to act in a proper fashion we are in for another relegation threatened season. The longer we stay at the bottom end of the league the harder it will be for us to get ourselves sorted.
The players we are putting on the pitch are simply not good enough, systems or managers will not make them good enough, they need replaced by those with the ability and will to succeed.

To many way over worried people in here after 3 games… Chelsea are a top top team and normally beat us.
Villa become a bogey team for us since they came bk up and we almost got a draw
Forest..at least we didn’t lose

Alternatively:

Chelsea have a shocking record at Goodison

Villa have been smashed by Palace and no hopers Bournemouth in their other games and were well and truly there for the taking

Forest are trying to gel a new team together and were well beaten at Newcastle and West Ham would have scored a hatful on another day

We'll be skirting it, teetering on the brink, dipping the odd toe in, all season - whether we actually go down is in our own hands...well probably hands that hold Chelsea's wallet.
But we've been on notice since last November so the fact that every game counts (towards avoiding relegation) should not be a strange concept to both Fans  And Management.

Not at Goodison, that was Chelsea's first win since May 2017.

Villa fair enough but look how they've played in other two games, missed opportunity there with lack of attackers not to get an away point and so a better mentality on the road.

Have to be beating promoted teams at home to have a mid table season so that was not a good result yesterday. We'll see how poor it was in May.

The rest of the league are pants and IF(a lot depends on this) we get a striker we fly up the league. Defensive we look a lot more sound. We have more possession and we are creating chances just not finishing them

I didn't see much chance creation at Villa Park, first shot on target wasn't until the 75th minute was it? And yesterday for home game against team new in the league there was the odd save Henderson made until the late flurry.

Think problem here is midfield is still pretty dysfunctional in shape and structure and that will take a while to work out. Really need to get Gana signed for these two away games. I'd be looking at him-Onana-Iwobi as the three in midfield tbh.

in fear of sounding a little reactive, i don’t think Leeds will be in a relegation battle this season - they’ve looked very sharp in all 3 games thus far
